Gerald E. Hutchison, 87, passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on June 27, 1933 the son of Wilma and Charles Hutchison in Golconda, Illinois.
Gerald leaves behind his wife, Donnabelle; four daughters, Sara (Steve) Goodner, Brenda (Doug) Hamilton, Rose (Tony) Harris, Susan (Bob) Asmar; fourteen grandchildren, Lindsay, Nathan, Abby, Amanda, Jessica, Joshua, Matthew, Daniel, Katie, Lane, Kayleigh, Megan, Christopher, and Tyler; as well as twenty-two great grandchildren and two more great grands arriving in June.
Gerald is preceded in death by his parents and one son-in-law, Mark McFee.
Gerald deeply loved his wife of 65 years, his daughters, sons-in-laws, and all his grandkids (his 'little turkeys'). He graduated from Bismarck High School and was a veteran of the United States Army. Known as "Uncle Hutch" by all his extended family, he loved his cars and trucks and keeping his yard immaculately groomed. "Jerry" worked for 40 years at TeePak in Danville, as a millwright. A hard worker, he was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand. Gerald never knew a stranger; he always ran into someone he knew, wherever he went. Certainly a people- person, he enjoyed connecting at the local feed store and gas station. He was known for keeping notes in his pocket notebook and distributing Werther's candies.
Gerald was a member of State Line Church of the Nazarene until it closed and then joined Danville First Church of the Nazarene where he was an usher.
