Gerald Dean Swank

Gerald Swank 71, of West Carrollton Ohio, formerly of Danville Illinois was born on October 16, 1940 in Indianola Illinois, to Ruth W. Franzen. He passed away on November 28, 2011 in his home. He graduated Jamaica High School in 1959 and spent two years at the Eastern Illinois University where he played football. He served in the United States Army from 1961-1964 during the Vietnam War Era. He married the love of his life Barbara Sutherland on November 24,1986. He loved football, bowling and playing euchre. Gerald is survived by his wife Barbara, one son Rick (Kristi) Swank, four daughters, April Nowak, Lisa (Johona) Sutherland, Wendi (Timothy) Walsh and Tammy (Brian) Leigh, eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. A Celebration of Gerald's life will take place on Monday December 5, 2011 at 10am at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center. A Life Celebration Home in Danville with Pastor Jim Blue officiating. A visitation will be held from 2-6pm on Sunday December 4, 2011 at the funeral home. Burial will take place after the service at Oak Hill Cemetery in Hillery, IL.
