Gerald D. Howard

Gerald D. Howard, age 68 of Danville, passed away Friday, June 19, 2015 at 7:50 PM at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. He was born December 19, 1946 in Danville, the son of Ivan and Daisy (Vandevender) Howard. Gerald married Cynthia Williams July 1, 1967 in Danville and they enjoyed 47 years of marriage together. She survives and will miss him dearly. Also surviving are his daughters, Lori Howard of Danville, Deana (Mark) Winters of Westville, and Penny (Scott) Jones of Danville; grandchildren, Kayla, Kendra, Joshua, Karla, Summer, and Scott; great-granddaughter, Aaliyah; brothers, Kenny (Sharon) Howard of Danville and Wayne (Rita) Howard of Fithian; sister, Bonnie Harden of Clinton, IN; and sister-in-law, Virginia Howard of Olivet. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Carl Howard and infant sister, Cathy, & his grandchildren, Deanna & Marc Anthony Gerald worked at Continental Filling for several years and then went to work for General Motors Company retiring after 25 years of dedicated hard work. Gerald enjoyed going fishing. He also loved to play the lottery and hoped he'd be the lucky winner every time. Gerald's presence will be missed by all who knew and loved him. A Celebration of Gerald's Life will be held Thursday, June 25, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, Westville. Visitation will be held from 11 to 1 Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service. Pastor Dan Ziebart will officiate. He will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville.
