Gerald Curry

Gerald W.Jerry Shorty Curry, 68, of Danville, died at 7:50 am on Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at his home. He was born June 11, 1938 in Muncie, IL the son of Preston M. and Julia E. (Camer) Curry. He married Clara R. Barrett on August 19, 1967 in Danville. She preceded him in death on August 4, 2006. Jerry is survived by three sons: Tommy Curry of Danville, Jeff (Lynn) Young of Arlington Heights, IL, Terry (Darenda) Curry of Danville; one daughter: Tanya Curry of Danville; one brother: Robert (Delores) Curry of Belgium, IL; one sister-in-law: Connie Curry of Danville; ten grandchildren; six great grandchildren and a special friend: Don Wood of Danville. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother: Ronnie Curry and one sister: Eleanor Shelefontiuk. Jerry worked as a truck driver and mechanic for 39 years. He worked for McVey Trucking in Oakwood and recently with Mel Price Trucking in Danville. He enjoyed fishing hunting, especially Coon hunting, and trapping. He restored old trucks and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jerry was a member of the Illinois Trappers Association.
