Rossville- Georgiana Rae Bowles, 93, of Rossville passed away at 10:33 PM on Friday, May 27, 2011 at the Heartland Health Care Center of Paxton. She was born on December 28, 1917 in Rossville to Elmer Ray and Ferne Orliska Young Potts. She married James Albert Bowles in 1939. He preceded her in death on December 14, 1992. She is survived by two daughters, Bonnie Bowles of Rossville and Barbara R. Glover of Williamsport, IN; grandson Sidney (Susan) Glover of Woodbridge, VA; great-granddaughter Alexandria (Jeff) Mottern of Vienna, VA and great-great granddaughter Kennedy Olivia Mottern; two sisters, Bernice (Bobbie) Davis of Ft. Myers, FL and Louise Howell of Rossville; nephew John R. (Chris) Davis of Ft. Myers, FL and niece Teresa (Tim) Vipond of Sugarland, TX; cousin George M. (Virginia) Walker of Buda, TX; and granddog Abby Lee. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a son-in-law Sid Glover and two brothers-in-law Robert M. Davis and Chelsea Howell. Rae enjoyed crafts, ceramics, playing golf and euchre, and word-search puzzles. She loved to travel and wintered many years in Florida. Rae was a past member of the Rossville OAO club and Rossville Chatter Club and attended St. James Methodist Church. A service to celebrate the life of Rae Bowles will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. Pastor Tiffany Black will officiate. Burial will follow at Rossville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 PM on Tuesday, May 31 also at Sunset in Danville.
