Georgia Ann Strange

Georgia Ann (Bean) Strange, 82, passed this life at 11:08 PM on Sunday October 5, 2025 in Danville, Illinois.

Georgia was born at home on July 9, 1943, the youngest of six children, to Elmer David and Ita Madelaine (Hembrey) Bean. Her parents divorced when she was very young, so Geogia was raised by her beloved Aunt Wilma “Bille” Stodsky of Westville, Illinois.

Georgia married Charles Leroy Strange in Danville, IL on June 3, 1961 and he preceded her in death on March 9, 2023.

Georgia is survived by two sons, Charles Eugene (Jill Smith) Strange and Randy Strange, both of Danville, IL; two granddaughters, Ashley Bryant of Bushnell, FL and Aubrey (Brian) Anzures of Centennial, CO; two grandsons, Kyle (Jenny) Strange and Ryan Strange, both of Danville, IL; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Strange; three brothers, Billy Joe Bean, Elmer P. “Buddy” Bean and Jim (Myrna) Bean; two sisters, Mary Edith Bean and Trixie (Merle) Myers; a stepbrother, Gary Gryp and twin great-grandsons.

Georgia attended Washington Grade School, Westville Junior High and Westville High School, graduating in 1961 just before her wedding.

In addition to being a loving wife and mother to her family, Georgia worked parttime for seven years in the cafeteria of Washington Grade School. She also babysat children and was a trusted house cleaner for another ten years. Georgia knew Jesus as her Lord and Savior and served Him and His church alongside her husband, Charles, for many years as a talented choir member, Sunday School teacher and dedicated Vacation Bible School worker. She served at many church potluck dinners and cleaned the Lone Oak Church of Christ for several years prior to its sale. In her later years, Georgia lovingly cared for ailing elderly family members in her home prior to their deaths.
