Georgia Hoover

Georgia (Lekos) Hoover, age 83, of Danville, passed away at 3:25 pm on Friday, October 23, 2009 at her home. She was born on February 10, 1926 in Chicago the daughter of William S. and Helen I. (Campbell) Lekos. Georgia married James R. Hoover in the Urbana Methodist Church on the evening of December 31, 1946. They lived their 63 years of marriage in the Danville area. Spending 43 years in Indian Springs, northwest of Danville. James survives her. Georgia is also survived by her two children: Bruce (Stefanie) Hoover of Virginia, Sandra L. Hoover of Warrensville, IL; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and her cousin Norma (Shepler) Gray of Piney Flats, Tennessee. Georgia graduated from Henning High School in 1944. Then spent three years attending St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in Danville. She loved fishing, walking in the wood, R.V.ing and spending her winters in the Alabama Gulf region. Georgia suffered with Pulmonary Fibroses, but rested at the end with the wonderful care of Carle Hospice. Georgia will be cremated and will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park.
