Indianapolis, IN - Georgia Fadale, 90, of Indianapolis, formerly of Westville, IL, passed away at 10:52 AM on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Hamilton Trace Nursing Home in Fishers, IN surrounded by her family. She was born on January 14, 1925 in Horse Cave, KY to George and Lillie (Buster) Middleton. She married Samuel Fadale on February 15, 1947 in Portsmouth, VA. He preceded her in death on March 22, 2002. She is survived by two children, Nancy Merlie of Fishers, IN and Charlie (Theresa) Fadale of Indianapolis, IN; five grandchildren, Tony (Katie) Merlie, Jim (Tina) Merlie, Liz (Nick) Brown, Catherine (Pat) Kirkhoff, and Becca Fadale; four great-grandchildren, Kyle, Joe, Max, and Will Merlie; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters, Eunice Barnes, Robbie Womacks, Pauline Barnes, Lottie Turner, Hallie Middleton, Tom Middleton, Claude Middleton, Herschel Middleton, Ervin Middleton, Robert Middleton and her son-in-law Michael Merlie. Georgia worked at the VA Hospital in Danville as a Registered Nurse from 1962 until her retirement in 1990. She was a member at St. Paul's Catholic Church and former member of St. Mary Church in Westville, the Business and Professional Women's Association (BPW), St. Elizabeth Nurses Alumni Association and several bridge clubs. She also enjoyed cooking, sewing, traveling, Fighting Illini Basketball and crossword puzzles. Georgia loved to socialize and host Sunday and holiday dinners for her family. A Mass of Christian Burial for Georgia Fadale will be held at 2:30 PM on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Danville. Father Greg Nelson will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 12-2 PM prior to the Mass on Tuesday, October 6, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
