Georgia Lucile Cook, 92, of Danville, passed away at 2:45am on Tuesday March 6, 2018 at Hawthorne Inn. She was born on September 8, 1925 in Oelwein, IA, the daughter of Roscoe and Ota Jane Scales. She spent her early years growing up on the farm, moving to southern Indiana after graduating high school in Maynard, IA. Georgia is survived by her husband of 66 years, Robert Cook. They were married on August 4, 1951 in Evansville, IN. Georgia is also survived by her daughters, Janet (Joe) Petrick, Joyce (Eric) Nelson; sons, Gary (Meryl) Cook, Brian (Kathy) Cook; grandchildren, Kevin (Kelly) Cook, Jeff (Allison) Petrick, Mike Petrick, Daniel Nelson, Kelly Nelson, Taylor (Angela) Cook, Allison Cook, Jonathan Cook; great-grandchildren, Collin Cook and Mary Cook. She is preceded in death by her parents and sisters, June Ingram and Darlene Tubbs. She enjoyed extensive travel with her husband, spending time with her family, playing golf and gardening. Georgia and Bob enjoyed square dancing and were active members of Danville's Frontier Twirlers. Visitation will be held from 1pm to 2pm on Monday March 12, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville. A private service will follow visitation.
