George William Henry Winslow, 78, of Georgetown, passed away at 11:52am Saturday September 10, 2005 at his residence. He was born June 24, 1927 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois; to the late George W.H. and Pearl E. (Morgan) Winslow. George married Mary Gray on March 10, 1944 in St. Louis, Missouri; she preceded him in death on January 5, 1993. Survivors include six sons; William Winslow of Tilton, Terry Winslow of Georgetown, Dennis (Meda) Winslow of Champaign, Jerry (Barb) Winslow of Leroy, Kevin (Candice) Winslow of Villa Grove, and Randy Winslow of Tilton; two daughters; Arlene Janou of Kerriville, Texas and Linda Winslow of Joliet; 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and three brothers; John (Fran) Winslow of San Manuel, Arizona, Lee Winslow of Kerriville, and Curt (Sherry) Winslow of Danville. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son; Lester Winslow, daughter; Wanda Jones, and two sisters; Mary Powell and Lillian Edmund. George was a trucker; retiring with 42 years of service. He worked for Ryder Truck Lines and was a loyal Teamster with Local 26. He enjoyed bowling and playing cards with his friends.
