George Watson, 77, of Danville, passed away at 10:37am on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at Provena USMC in Danville. He was born on July 24, 1934, in Chicago, IL, the son of Archibald and Gertrude Catherine (Ruther) Watson. Both are deceased. On December 21, 1953, George married Delilah Ruth Swank. She survives along with their two sons; William H. Bill' (Phyllis) Watson of Danville, and Thomas D. (Jeannie) Watson of Danville. Her grandson; William D. Watson (Amber McArdle) of Danville, two sisters; Deloris Hanna of Chrisman, Catherine (Louis) Mann of Danville, Shirley Mae (Carroll) Cook of San Antonio, TX, his brother; Robert Bob' Watson of Munice, IL, and several appreciated nieces and nephews also survive him. In addition to his parents, his two brothers; William, and Edward Watson, and his two sisters; Betty Lou Watson, and Mary Ellen Mann preceded George in death. George served in the United States Army as a clerk/typist. He later was employed with Tee-pak of Danville, retiring in 1997. He was a member of the Danville American Legion Post #210, and the Danville Moose Lodge. George enjoyed bowling, going to auctions, and had a love for music, even operating his own music store named, "The Music Company". He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. A Celebration of the Life of George Watson has been scheduled for 2:00pm on Sunday, October 2, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation, A Life Celebration Home, located at 3940 N. Vermilion Street in Danville with burial to take place on Monday October 3, 2011 at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation for family and friends will be from 4-7pm on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at the funeral Home.
