George J. Mcqueen

George J. McQueen (Ewing), 69, of Danville passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday January 8, 2015. George was born the son of Floyd Ewing and Mary Mockbee on March 20, 1945 in Danville. George married Martha Louise Griffith on July 21, 1962 and they had five children together Jerry Lee McQueen, George (Kathy) McQueen Jr., Jason (Becky)McQueen, Brenda Sue (Ron) Martin and Dulcie Shipley all of Danville. George also leaves behind one brother Jerry (Kay) McQueen, a special grandson Joey McQueen, 21 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren and his K-9 companion Neeko. George was preceded in death by his mother and two granddaughters Tiffany Nicole Islam and Angel Marie Islam. George served in the Army when he was a young man, he loved to fish rather it be ice fishing or just fishing in the summer he loved to be out there. He also enjoyed fixing up old cars. He loved his kids and great grandkids and of course the great great grandkids. He also enjoyed listening to Golden Oldies. A visitation will be held at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville on Monday January 12, 2015 from 4:00pm-7:00pm. The Funeral service will be on Tuesday January 13, 2015 at 2:00 pm. Burial will be in Atherton Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers the family asks that Memorials be made in Georges name to a local no kill animal shelter.
