Kingman- George Francis Cox, 75, of Kingman, IN, passed away at 4:15 PM on Friday, August 5, 2011 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. He was born on October 10, 1935 in Sullivan, IN to Benjamin and Martha Jane Hollis Cox. He married his wife of nearly 50 years Brenda Faye Wethington on September 8, 1961 in Gary, IN. She survives. Also surviving are daughter Diana (Terry) Bradford of Demotte, IN; son Michael David Cox of Portage, IN; 2 grandchildren Jason Cervantes and Nathan Cox 2 brothers, Michael H. Cox of Covington, IN and Benjamin (Janet) Cox of Gary, IN; Brother-in-law, Joe Rivera; Mother-in-law Bernadette "Bernie" Wethington; several nieces and nephews; many dear friends; and his special dogs, Spike and Lutz. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, a brother, and several half-sisters. George served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was a life member and past Post Commander of the VFW Post #802 in Hammond, IN and a life member of the American Legion in Kingman. George was also an active board member for the Lake Holiday Hideaway Improvement Corporation in Kingman. A service to celebrate the life of George Cox will be held at 3 PM EDT on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Sunset's Covington Chapel. Kevin Kwasniewski will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services. Visitation will be held from 10 AM-3 PM EDT prior to the services on Wednesday, also at Sunset's Covington Chapel. Military Honors will be conducted by the Kingman American Legion.
