George E. Youhas, 82, of Westville, passed away at 1:03am, Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at Danville Care Center. He was born on February 22, 1928, the son of Andrew Happy and Margarite (Maryo) Youhas, both deceased. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Sharp on April 21, 1956, in Nottingham, England. She will miss him dearly. Others who will sadly miss him include: his children, Colleen Youhas, Sharon Wolfe, Terri (Rick) Nixon, & Gary Youhas of Champaign; his grandchildren, Elizabeth (Tony Thurston) Wolfe, Matthew (Neda) Wolfe, James (Jill) McDaniel, & Bryan Youhas; his great grandchildren, Malia & Brayden Wolfe, Kaden McDaniel, & Brysen Thurston; his sister, Delores Fratick; and several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by: two infant daughters, Keri Marie & Sheryl Ann; his brother, Andrew Youhas; his sister-in-law, Janice Youhas; his step-mother, Katherine Youhas; and brother-in-law Charlie Fratick. George was a 1946 graduate of Westville High School. He was retired from Lauhoff after 33 years of service. George was also a Veteran of the US Army and served during the Korean Conflict. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan and also cheered on the Illini. He was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church of Westville. A celebration o f Georges life will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, March 6, 2010, at St. Marys Church, Westville. Father Timothy Sauppe will officiate. A visitation will be 4-8pm, Friday, March 5, 2010, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, 414 S State St, Westville. He will be laid to rest in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given in Georges name to St. Marys Church.
