Genieve Fauniel Reffett, age 95 of Covington, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2016 at The Waters of Covington. She was born September 24, 1920 in Perrysville, IN the daughter of S.T. and Ruth (Coffing) Spivey. She will be dearly missed by her children, Jim (Karen) Smith of Covington, Linda (Randy) Cope of Holland, MI, and two other children Joy and Carol; grandchildren, Angel (Mitchell) Roarks, Scott (Karen) Smith, Matt Winters, Crystal Smith, Joe Cope, and Charlie Cope; great-grandchildren, Madison, Urban, Gavin, Ethan, Jackson, and Tyler; one sister, Jeanette Mack of Rockville; and many other close family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Ronald E. Smith, MIA US Army Special Forces, brothers, Theron "Bud" and Harry Spivey, sister, Arletta Helms. Genieve worked as an Avon sales representative for over 35 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Covington and past member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Genieve enjoyed doing ceramics. Her grandchildren were the light of her world. She played an active role in their lives, attending all the events of theirs possible. Nanny had a good hand in the upbringing in her grandchildren. Genieve will be missed dearly by all she knew and the many lives she has touched. A celebration of Genieve's life will be held Sunday, February 28, 2016 at 2:00 PM EST at Sunset's Covington Chapel, Covington. She will be laid to rest at Kingman Fraternal Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday prior to the service from 12-2 PM EST at the funeral home. Memorials can be made in her name to Rolling Thunder- Indiana Chapter 1.
