Genevieve Redtman

Genevieve Redtman, 89, of Danville, IL, formerly of Baltimore, MD, went to meet Jesus on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at North Logan Health Care in Danville. Genevieve was born the daughter of William and Margaret (Myers) Heinbuch on March 13, 1930 in Baltimore, MD. She married the love of her life, a sailor, Richard A. Redtman Jr. on March 11, 1951. He preceded her in death on October 16, 1988.

Genevieve leaves behind her three children, Faith Redtman, Jessica (Bryan) Sampson, Richard (Jeanne) Redtman III, and two grandsons, Christopher and Daryl Sampson who will miss her spunk and playfulness.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, and her brother Ernest Heinbuch.

Genevieve enjoyed roller skating and went twice, sometimes three times a week, until she was 78 years old. She loved going to her home church and being a greeter there, which is what she did for more than 40 years. Genevieve adored 'kitty' cats and socializing with others at McDonalds. It can be said she had a great heart, enjoyed life and loved her friends & family.

A celebration of Genevieves life will be held on Friday September 6th, 2019 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Westville, located at 414 S State Street, Westville, Illinois at 6 PM. Pastor Bryan Sampson will officiate. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4-6 PM prior to the service. Burial will be at a later date in Baltimore, MD.
