Gene Foster

Gene Foster, 69, passed away February 28, 2015, at his Reno home with Libby his wife of 25 years by his side. Gene was born on January 23, 1946, in Armstrong, IL and grew up in Danville, IL. Gene served his country in the Navy as a Yeoman in Vietnam, and in the Army as a MP in Germany. Gene worked 38 years as a Millwright at General Motors Central Foundry in Danville, IL, and GM Parts in Sparks, NV. Upon his retirement from GM Gene and Libby moved to Paris, IL and returned back to Reno, NV in 2011. Gene loved to spend time with Libby and travel the country, taking many RV excursions across the US. Gene had accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth (Libby) Ann Foster; his son, Lonnie Foster of Danville, IL; daughter, Tammy Cotten, Danville, IL; stepsons Brett and Paul Fathauer and stepdaughter, Camille Sciscoe of Danville, IL; grandchildren, Logan Foster, Kacie Engel, Heather Moulton, Jon Cotten, Jarrod Cotten; great grandson, Jaxen Moulton; step-grandchildren, Bryce, Kyle, Cameron, Tia, Abby, and Samuel Fathauer; sister, Janice Foster Davis of Danville, IL, and several nieces and nephews. Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Nellie Foster; brothers, Jack and Ted Foster, and granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Halie Foster. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 11, 2015, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm CDT, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, IL. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2015, at 11:00am CDT, at Sunset Funeral Home. Gene will be entombed at Sunset Memorial Park with military honors performed by the Danville American Legion Post #210.
