Gayle L. Burrell, 57, passed from this life January 8, 2021 with loving friends and caring healthcare providers by her side.
Born to Garland and Carole Burrell on April 18, 1963, she is survived by her mother, a sister, Stormy (Cliff) Villines and a brother, Travis (Jessica) Burrell and several beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Todd and her father.
Being a single working woman, she worked in the fast-food industry at Wendys and Arbys, where she excelled as a skilled and caring manager. Throughout her career, she enjoyed working with many people but especially the young people giving many their first job experience and teaching them good work ethics.
Gayle was also a very faithful, active member in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. After serving a full-time mission for the church, she returned to the Danville Ward for the next 38 years. She served in many church callings, teaching and serving other women and youth but especially the primary children whom she showered with motherly love and affection every Sunday and throughout the week when she could.
In her later years she was stricken with multiple sclerosis, but she did not let that stop her. She continued to prove to be a caring and loving friend to others, even after being confined to a wheelchair and a nursing home. She often could be found wheeling around town with the help of the CRIS bus and others, sharing her smile, wisdom and friendship with all that she came in contact with. Gayle collected clowns, love and affection in abundance. Consequently, she had a vast host of friends from every walk of life, who loved her and will miss her dearly. Gayle enjoyed working hard at helping with family history and temple work. Often traveling alone, and with others, long distances to work in the temples for others, as often as was possible. Many of us, on both sides of the veil, are indebted to her for her selfless service.
Family and friends would like to offer a special thanks to Colonial Manor and Carle Hospital staff for all their excellent care for our Gayle.
A visitation will be held Saturday, January 16, 2021 from 10:00 -11:00 AM with a service immediately following at the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-day Saints at 1949 N. Bowman Ave, Danville. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery.
