Gay Smith

Urbana - Gay Smith, 71, passed away on Saturday September 2, 2017 at her home in Urbana, IL. She was born on August 17, 1946 the daughter of Lyle and Lenore (McTyre) Gilbert. She married Thomas Smith, her loving husband of 52 years, on May 28, 1965. Gay is survived by her husband; daughters Dawn (Martin) Cross and Lara (Matthew) Christensen; son Thomas (Anje) Smith Jr.; grandchildren Caitlin Cross, Gentre' Ross, Aneesa Nelsen, Clayton Nelsen, Anna Smith; and great-granddaughter Kailynn. Gay enjoyed watching NASCAR races, crafting and scrapbooking, and she loved animals. Most of all Gay enjoyed spending time with her family. A private graveside service will be held at East Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Bloomington, IL.
