Gary Taylor

Covington, IN- Gary L. Taylor, 69, of Covington, IN passed away at 5:08 PM on Monday, August 20, 2012 at The Waters of Covington. He was born on January 2, 1943 in Covington to Lewis Marshall and Cecil Marie Kirby Taylor. He married Jeanette Phillips on September 2, 1961 in Covington. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Allen Wayne Taylor of Covington and Phillip Lee Taylor of Danville, IL; three brothers Larry (Connie) Taylor, Bob Taylor, and Denny Taylor; two sisters, Janice (Bill) Kovacic and Cindy (David) Denman; four grandchildren, Aaron (Courtney) Taylor, Alyssa Taylor, Phillip Taylor, Jr., and Michelle Taylor; and two great-grandchildren, Kylee and Alexander Taylor. He was preceded in death by his parents. Gary had worked for Olin Matheson, but most recently worked at Steel Grip until his retirement in 2005. He loved horses, Westerns, electronics of all sorts, and computers. Gary liked to watch the world news and political shows, and was an avid Cubs fan. He was also a music lover, especially enjoying Johnny Cash and Matt Dillon. Gary was a musician himself for many years, playing guitar and singing. A service to celebrate the life of Gary L. Taylor will be held at 6 PM ET on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Sunset's Covington Chapel. Pastor Bobby Fairchild will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services. Visitation will be held from 4-6 PM prior to the service, also at Sunset's Covington Chapel. Memorials may be made to Heartland Equine.
