Gary R. Cole, Sr.

Danville Gary R. Cole, Sr., 68, of Danville passed away at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville on July 3, 2020.

Gary was born on May 12, 1952 in Danville, IL the son of Marion and Minnie (Gay) Cole.

Survivors include his son, Gary R. (Anne) Cole, Jr, of Mansfield, IL, four sisters, Gail (Robert) Nelson of Danville, IL, Marion Kay (Steve) Chasteen of Bloomington, IL, Vicky Joe Pogson of Punta Gorda, FL, and Linda Pribble of Danville, IL, five grandchildren, Dalton Cline and Katie, Hannah, Joseph, and Emma Cole as well as several nieces and nephews.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Tabetha Cline and two brothers, Lewis E. Cole and Robert E. Cole.

Gary worked for the Vermilion County Conservation District at the Lake Vermilion Boat Ramp for many years. He enjoyed spending his free time fishing, watching movies and aircraft pilot roll playing video games.

A private family Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Pastor Patti Wise will officiate. Private family visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 from 9:00 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
