Gary R Cheesman

DANVILLE - Gary R. Cheesman, 60, of Danville passed away at 5:43 p.m. on Monday December 3, 2007 at his home. He was born on December 20, 1946 in Crawfordsville, IN the son of Luther and Maude Newman Cheesman. He married Madonna McConnell on December 9, 1967 in Cayuga, IN. She preceded him in death on November 8, 2006. Survivors include: two sons, Gary L. (Robin) Cheesman of Danville, and James Cheesman of Danville; two daughters, Shelly Cheesman of Danville and Mychael (Brad) Aaron of Danville; four brothers, Daniel (Deborah) Cheesman of Georgetown, Robert (Judy) Cheesman of Danville, Rick (Tammy) Cheesman of TX, and David Cheesman of Danville; four sisters, Linda (Kenny) Obanion of Armstrong, Nancy Martin of Georgia, Tonya (David) Miller of Westville, and Vivian (Robert) Powell of Danville; six grandchildren, Tanya, Jordan, Erin, and Matthew Cheesman, Tristan and Mason Aaron. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Luther Butch and Charlie and one sister, Phyllis. Gary retired from GM after twenty-five years of service. Gary enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting. He also liked watching basketball and boxing and enjoyed working on automotives. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. A celebration of Garys life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday December 8, 2007 at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, 414 S State Street, Westville, IL. His brother, Rick Cheesman, will officiate. Visitation will be from noon to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery.
