KINGMAN - Gary L. Hooker, 63, of Kingman, IN, passed away at 11:30am, Tuesday, January 15th, 2008, at his home. He was born on June 2nd, 1944, in Danville, IL, the son of Leon Hooker and Elizabeth Ellen (Yowell) Hooker. He will be missed by: his sons, Barry (Marsha) Hooker of Bloomington, IL, Brad (Leisa) Snoke of Ohio, & Bret (Christi) Snoke of Arkansas; his daughter, Becky Davis of Ridge Farm; his three step-children, Vanessa (Randy) Purple of Covington, IN, Julie Lawson of Kingman, IN, & Wesley (Rachel) Lawson of Ridge Farm, IL; and his twenty-one grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and three grandchildren. Gary was a farmer who raised sheep and showed them at county and state fairs. He also enjoyed spending time with the friends he made at those fairs over the years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Danville. Gary enjoyed his breakfast group at the Appletree restaurant in Veedersburg, IN. He enjoyed watching sports and especially when his grandkids played. He really cherished the time he spent playing with his grandchildren. A celebration of Garys life will be held at 10:00am, Tuesday, January 23rd, 2008, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E West St, Georgetown, IL. Jerry Cummins and Mark Bouslog will officiate the service. Visitation will be 4p-8p, Monday, January 22nd, 2008, at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Park in Danville, IL. Memorial donations may be given in his name to the American Heart Association.
