Gary Foreman

Danville With heavy hearts we announce that after a long battle with Alzheimers disease, Gary Wayne Freman went to be with God on April 6, 2024 at the age of 72.

Gary was born on December 8, 1951 the son of Wayne and Pansy (Hawkins) Foreman in Grand Rapids, MI and was raised in Danville, IL.

Gary is survived by his children, Stacy Littlejohn of Rockford, IL, and Jennifer Weaver of Cape Coral, FL; grandchildren, Karissa Littlejohn and Brayten Wagner of Rockford, IL and Bradley Weaver of Marshfield, MO and Clayton Weaver of Strafford, MO; as well as one sister,

Carolyn Galeener of Danville, IL; and special friends, Jerry Leahy and Brad Pantaleo.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Wayne W. and Pansy L. Foreman and his grandparents, Louis and Lydia Foreman and Rev. Stanley and Mary Nevada Hawkins.

Gary was a Godly man, a hard worker and loved his family. He loved to go fishing, camping, singing, play his guitar and harmonica. Gary was also an avid Chicago Cubs fan.

Gary attended Danville High School and graduated in 1971. He was gifted with a great spirit and loved life. In his younger years, he loved to play tennis at Lincoln Park and participate in neighborhood activities.

Gary was loved and cherished by many. He ran a Lawn Maintenance business for over 37 years in the Rockford, IL area. He had some loyal customers for many years.

The family would like to extend a special Thank You to the staff at Arcadia Care, Transitions Hospice and to his special friends, Jerry Leahy and Brad Pantaleo during his progressive Alzheimers disease.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Raymie Gordon will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Danville at a later date. Visitation will be held from 9 10:00 AM on Friday, April 12, 2024 at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made in Garys memory to an Animal Shelter of the Donors Choice.
