Gary F. Williams

Gary Franklin Williams of Covington died on December 4, 2023 at 7:30 pm at the VA Illiana Health Care System, Independence House in Danville, Illinois. Gary was born on December 31, 1947 to Franklin Arthur Williams and Hazel Marie Huffman Williams. He was raised by Lester and Florence Huffman on the family farm near Bismarck, Illinois.

Gary went to Grange Hall and Bismarck Henning High School. He graduated with the Class of 1968.

Gary served his country in the Air Force from 1968- 1972. He was stationed at Eielson Air Force Base in Fairbanks, Alaska. He earned the rank of sergeant. Gary worked in HVAC maintenance and repair.

Gary married Linda Kay Odeneal on April 28, 1973 in Covington. She preceded him in death. Surviving are two sons Stacey L. Williams of Bismarck, Illinois and Carl L. (Marie) Williams of Veedersburg, Indiana; two granddaughters Arity L. Williams and Alexis M. Williams; and two greatgrandchildren Avalon Mae and Sylas Cicero.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2023 from 1:00pm 3:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Homes Covington Chapel, located at 420 3rd Street, Covington, Indiana. A funeral service celebrating his life will follow at 3:00 pm. He will be laid to rest with military honors next to Linda at Lower Mound Cemetery following services.
