Danville- Gary Dines, 49, of Danville passed away on Monday, October 15, 2012 at his home. He was born on December 25, 1962 in Danville to Ralph and Marjorie Pittman Dines. He married Terri Cheesman on November 17, 1984 in Danville. She preceded him in death in 2009. Surviving are three brothers, Jerry (Donna) Dines of Bismarck, Mike (Connie) Dines of Hardenville, MO, and Danny (Karen) Dines of Georgetown; two sisters, Connie (Allen) Reed of Danville and Bonnie (Larry) Cook, also of Danville; special friend Teresa Dyer of North Carolina; several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews; and a best friend since childhood, Joe Davis of Danville. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents. Gary worked at Peterson/CCL/KIK for 22 years and was most recently Commercial Sales Manager at Advanced Auto Parts. He had just received the rank of Lieutenant as a volunteer with the Lynch Fire Department who was like his second family. He enjoyed racing and NASCAR and was a devoted Cubs and Colts fan, but also liked taking care of all of the neighborhood cats. Most of all Gary loved his family and enjoyed talking to his brothers on the phone. A service to celebrate the life of Gary Dines will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. Reverend James Blue will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM on Friday, October 19, also at Sunset in Danville.
