Gary A. Kingston

Gary A. Kingston 79, of Champaign, IL. passed away on February 11, 2022 at OSF Heart of Mary Medical Center in Urbana, IL. He was born on August 9, 1942 in Paragould, AR., the son of Harry and Eula (McGowan) Kingston. He proudly served in the United States Airforce and retired from the University of Illinois Materials Research Lab in 1997. Gary was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Arkansas Razorbacks fan. He enjoyed traveling, was a collector of model trains, and was also a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Savoy, IL. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Leta; brother, Donald Kingston of Paragould, AR; daughters, Andrea (Peter) Dixon, Polly (Phillip) Hoewing; grandchildren, Kara Dixon, Justin Dixon, Zachary Dixon, Caleb Hoewing, Joel Hoewing and Benjamin Hoewing. His parents precede him in death. Memorials may be made in Garys name to Cornerstone Baptist Church in Savoy, IL. Visitation will be held on Tuesday February 22, 2022 from 11am-1pm with a service to follow at Sunset funeral Home and Cremation Center in Champaign, Il 61820.
