Garold F. Brant

Garold F. Brant, 73, passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at OSF Medical Center in Danville, IL.. He was born on August 8, 1948 the son of Nedra (Whalen) and Lewis Brant. He married Doris (Norris) on November 23, 1966 in Virginia, IL. She survives.

Also surviving include their children, David (Amy) Brant of Danville, IL, Duane Brant of Dwight, IL, and Diane Elaine (John) Brant of Ohio; grandchildren, Brandon Brant of Springfield, IL and Kacey Brant of Danville, IL; and a brother, Ronald (Margaret) Brant of Jacksonville, IL.

Garold is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Joseph Lewis Brant III, Ray Brant, Archie Brant, and William Brant; sisters, Mary VanHulle, Norma DePue, and Martha Brant.

Garold worked for the Norfolk Southern Railway when he retired. He served his Lord and Savior in many aspects of the church most recently as a deacon. He was passionate about farming and loved telling a good story. He was a friend to everyone, and he didnt know a stranger. Garold was awarded the Dekalb award in High School. During his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and money origami.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at Faith Baptist Church, 920 Warrington Ave, Danville, Illinois 61832. Officiating will be Pastor Allan Rudie. Visitation will be held just prior to the service from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church.

Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Virginia, IL.

Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834, has been entrusted with arrangements.
