Garnet E. Pfeifer, 71, of Danville, passed this life at 2:02 pm on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at her residence. She was born June 15, 1941 in Danville, the daughter of the late John and Garnet Elliott Kocurek. Survivors include three children: Garnet (Frank) Nixon of Danville, Greg (Cathy) Swann of Arizona, and Gretchen (Joseph) Chantos of Georgetown; two brothers, John Kocurek Jr. of Westville and Mark Kocurek of Georgetown; five grandchildren, Meredith and Cameron Swann, Jonathan Gilbreath, and Zechariah and Gabriel Chantos; two nieces, Kerrie Gill and Molly Montgerard. Garnet worked at Tee-Pak in Danville for a short time, then worked at Bohn/Heatcraft , retiring after 35 years of service. She served as a volunteer at Provena United Medical canter in Danville, and also volunteered as an adult literacy tutor at DACC. Garnet enjoyed her home, her yard, feeding the outdoor wildlife, and especially enjoyed her dog, Dusty. Graveside committal services for Garnet Pfeifer will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at the Chapel Mausoleum at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Officiating services will be Rev. James Blue. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville has been entrusted with arrangements.
