Gage Nicholas Ellis

Champaign - Gage Nicholas Ellis, 13, passed away on Friday August 19, 2016 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. He was born on September 28, 2002 to James Brian Ellis and Natalie Mae Bryant in Urbana. Gage is survived by his mother; siblings Alexis Unander, Jeremy Stone, Patricia (Alex) East, Devon Ellis, Kaitlin Ellis, Brian Ellis, Sarea Ellis, Ja'Lea Johnson, Javeon Johnson, and Taylor Griffin; grandparents Cindy (Bill) Bryant of Champaign, Willie (Hope) Johnson Sr., and Jane Schook; several aunts and uncles including Jake Koenig and Ben (Sarah) Bryant of Urbana; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. Gage is preceded in death by his father; stepfather Corey Johnson; grandfather Paul Schook; and aunt Mary Ellis. Gage was a student at Jefferson Middle School. He was curious and adventurous, and he loved to talk and ask questions. Gage enjoyed being outdoors, playing video games, doing crafts, and playing with Legos. He was an avid Pokemon Go player and he had an obsession with sloths. A celebration of Gage's life will be held on Saturday August 27, 2016 at 3pm at Sunset Funeral Home 710 N Neil Street Champaign, IL 61820. Willie Johnson Sr. will officiate. Visitation will be held on Saturday August 27 from 12pm-3pm at the funeral home. Cremation will follow. Memorial donations may be made to Gage's family.
