Gae (Van Allen) Wiener, 65, of Granger, Indiana passed away on April 25, 2010 at St. Joseph Hospital in Mishawaka, Indiana following surgery. Gae was born January 17, 1945 in Danville, Illinois and preceded in death by parents Kenneth and Celma (Swaim) Van Allen. She married Tom Wiener on May 28, 1966 and was married 43 years. He survives along with two sons: Thomas Wiener of Elkhart, IN and Philip (Deidre) Van Allen of Evansville, Indiana; brother: Donald (Sharon) Van Allen of Bismarck, Illinois; sister: Kathryn (Terry) Banta of Ridge farm, Illinois; three grandsons: Brant Seibert, Braden and Brennan Van Allen; niece: Kathy Banta of Chicago, Illinois; nephews: Scott and D.J. Wiener of Traverse City, Michigan; father-in-law: Jerome Wiener of Sturgis, Michigan; and brother and sister in laws: Jerry and Sheri Wiener of South Bend, Indiana Gae had worked as dental assistant for 18 years with the Granger and Mishawaka offices of the Dental Center. Her hobbies and interests were her family, flowers, and bird watching. A Celebration of Gaes Life will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, April 29, 2010 at Sunsets Oakwood Chapel with Pastor Patty Wise officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Oakwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the North Central Dental Society, IU Dental Assisting Scholarship Fund, 919 E. Jefferson Street, suite 105, South Bend, Indiana 46617.
