G Ronnie Witherspoon

Gorman "Ronnie" Witherspoon, 60, of Georgetown, passed away at 7:05pm, Saturday, April 2, 2016, at Presence USMC, Danville. He was born a twin on January 25, 1956, in Danville, IL, the son of Roy and Audrey {Miller} Witherspoon. He will be dearly missed by: his Mother, Audrey Witherspoon of Georgetown; his brothers, Kenneth (Kathleen) Witherspoon of Ridge Farm, & his twin brother, Melvin Donald (Lisa) Witherspoon of Hartselle, AL; his sisters, Audrey Allison, Jacquita Craft, Cindy Allison, & Virginia Mayo, all of Georgetown; many nieces & nephews; his special friends, Diane Williams of Danville, Bob Glidewell of Georgetown, Tim Wood of Georgetown; and Lawrence Sutton of California; and his faithful k-9 companion, Quin. He was preceded in death by: his father; his brother, Michael Witherspoon; and his sister, Gloria Fay Collins. Ronnie was a member of the Community of Christ Church. He enjoyed working on his trucks and going mushroom hunting. He also liked to go fishing and watch Westerns. A celebration of Ronnie's life will be held at 1:00pm, Thursday, April 7, 2016, at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, Georgetown, with Ernie Rumple officiating. Visitation will be held 4pm-8pm, Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given in his name to Community Church of Christ.
