Freeman "Flip" Newell

Freeman “Flip” Newell, 80, of Cayuga, Indiana, passed away at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana, on Thursday, July 18, 2025. Flip was born on May 15, 1945, in Clinton, Indiana, the son of Hartsel and Serena (Dickerson) Newell. Flip married the love of his life, Reva Webb, on June 5, 1965. They enjoyed over sixty years together.

Flip was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Hartsel Newell, Jr. Flip is survived by his wife Reva V. (Webb) Newell, his brother Roy (Chong Im) Newell, sister Loretta “Lolly” (Norman) Adams, and several nieces and nephews.

Flip graduated from Cayuga High School in 1963. He worked for over thirty-eight years at Teepak in Danville, Illinois where he retired from. Flip was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He enjoyed gardening, cutting wood, and spending time with family and friends.
