Danville - Fredrick Turner, 83, of Danville passed away at 10:19 AM on April 12, 2022 at his home in Danville.
Fred was born on February 27, 1939 the son of Roy and Irene (Kilby) Turner in Danville, IL. He married Connie Hubler on May 15, 1999 in Danville, IL and she survives.
Survivors include his wife, Connie Turner of Danville, IL, two children, April Turner Buck of Indianapolis, IN and Lance Turner of Danville, IL two stepchildren, Robin Gay of Danville, IL and Troy Fairchild of Danville, IL, two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren as well as three sister, Mary Lou Shoaf of Danville, IL, Linda Tuggle of Covington, IN and Debbie Fontaine of Louisiana.
Fred is preceded in death by his parents.
Fred served in the United States Army and retired after 40 years of service to Lauhoff Grain, where he worked in the Maintenance Department for many years. He enjoyed spending his free time flower and vegetable gardening, mushroom and squirrel hunting, mowing the grass and spending time with his grandbabies, whom he loved dearly. In his younger years he enjoyed boxing and participated in several boxing competitions.
A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Sunset Memorial Park with Military Rites accorded by American Legion Post 210. Rod Godley will officiate. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834 is assisting the family with arrangements.
