Frederick H. Coleman, Jr.

RIDGE FARM - Frederick Henry Coleman Jr., 85, of Ridge Farm, IL, passed away at 9:50 p.m. Wednesday May 31, 2006 at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village in Chrisman. He was born on July 15, 1920 in Covington, IN the son of Frederick Henry Coleman Sr. and Zella (Arter) Coleman. He married Helen Gardner Rigdon on May 1968 in Westville, IL. She preceded him in death in 1999. Survivors include his children; Lucketa (Ron) Paddock of Rockville, IN and David (Carol) Coleman of Danville, IN; his step-children, Carol Rigdon Pearson of Ridge Farm, John (Julie) Rigdon of Ridge Farm, and Lyle (Lonnie) Rigdon of Ashland, IL; his daughter-in-law, Twila Rigdon of Sullivan, IN; his brother, Richard (Mary Jane) Coleman of Columbus, OH; his thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and good friends, Punk (Shirley) Thompson of Ridge Farm, Cordy (Rachel) Heron of Danville, IL and Debbie Knight of Ridge Farm. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, a brother, two sisters, a step-son, and a grandchild. Frederick was a production manager for Funks Seed Co. in Rockville, IN. He was a fifty year member of the Hillsboro Masonic Lodge #385. He was a volunteer fireman for the Ridge Farm fire Dept. and served on the Village Board for ten years. Frederick was a member of the Lions Club and enjoyed fishing, camping, and mushroom hunting. He loved attending all of his grandchildrens activities. A celebration of Fredericks life will be held at 1:00 p.m. (CST) Saturday June 3, 2006 at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home in Georgetown, IL. Masonic rites will be conducted at 12:45 p.m. (CST). Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery in Ridge Farm, IL. Officiating will be Rev. James Blue. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (CST) Saturday June 3, 2006 at the funeral home.
