Frederick 'Fred' Lee Underwood

Dana, Ind. - Frederick 'Fred' Lee Underwood, 88, of rural Dana, Indiana, passed away at 1:50 p.m. EDT Sunday June 9, 2018 at Vermillion Convalescent Center in Clinton, Indiana.

He was born December 27, 1930 in Newport, Indiana the son of the late Albert LeRoy and Suzie (Peer) Underwood.

Fred married Dorothy Josephine Beck on June 14, 1952 in Perrysville, Indiana. She preceded him in death on June 5, 2018.

Survivors include his children: Frederick (Nancy) Underwood, Jr. of Eugene, Indiana; Robert (Jane) Underwood of Kingman, Indiana; Ramona Felgenhauer of Perrysville, Indiana; Sheila (Jerry) McFall of Hillsdale, Indiana; Joyce (Chris) Chambers of Hillsboro, Indiana and Jeanna Maquet of Dana, Indiana; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son: Bill Underwood; two grandchildren: Bill Underwood, Jr. and Brit Hinkle; one sister and one brother.

Fred was a auto mechanic at Gibson Motor Company in Perrysville, Indiana for over 40 years and Wilson Transmission in Danville, Illinois. He was a member of the Eugene United Methodist Church in Eugene, Indiana. He enjoyed woodworking, playing and watching basketball, especially the Boston Celtics during the Larry Bird era, playing badminton with his children and grandchildren, cutting wood and watching professional wrestling.
