Cayuga, Ind. - Frederick A. Brown, 84, of Cayuga and formerly of Newport, passed away at 10:14 a.m. CDT Friday, June 25, 2021 at his daughter's home in Danville, Illinois.

He was born November 12, 1936 in Newport, Indiana, the son of the late John Arden and Mary G. (Angelmyer) Brown.

Frederick married Esther J. Hubbard on July 6, 1957 in Covington, Indiana. She preceded him in death on April 11, 2000.

Survivors include his daughter: Melinda Trosper of Danville, Illinois; two sons: Norman Brown of Montezuma, Indiana and Robert Dale (Carol) Brown of Rantoul, Illinois; five grandchildren: Amy (Dan) Busenbark; Courtney Peterson; Megan (Ian) Bretz; Lindsey (Wade) Henig and Heather Ratliff, along with nine great grandchildren.

Frederick was preceded in death by his son-in-law: Don Trosper, three sisters and three brothers.

Frederick retired in November 1999 from Tee Pak. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Frederick was a member of the Newport Church of God but was attending the Alvin Church of God recently with his daughter. He was a graduate of Newport High School. Frederick was known for his 'Green Thumb' and had large gardens every year. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, mushrooming and carpentry.

Graveside service and burial with honors: 2 p.m. EDT Thursday, July 1, 2021 at Thomas Cemetery in Newport, Indiana. Officiating: Pastor Dan Hunt of the Alvin Church of God. DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana is in charge of arrangements.
