Georgetown - Fred V. Wills, 60, of Georgetown, passed away at 2:14 PM on Friday, November 15, 2013 at his home. He was born on October 6, 1953 in Danville, IL to Earnest Jack Wills and Mary Ellen Covert. Fred had been married to Nancy Fleming, with whom he had two sons. He is survived by his sons, David V. (Danelle) Wills of Georgetown, and Jason M. Wills of Danville; a brother, Larry (Sandy) Wills; and five grandchildren, Keegan, Izabella, Cruz, Jaylie, and Cooper Wills. He was preceded in death by his father, and a brother, Mickey Wills. Fred had served his country in the United States Navy and, until his recent retirement, had worked at the VA Illiana Health Care System. He liked to drive any kind of new car at his sons work and would often spend time riding his motorcycle, but Freds true passion was his family. He cherished his time spent coaching his boys baseball and soccer teams and never missed one of his grandkids sporting events. Most of all, Fred loved to spend time with his grandchildren. Fred loved his family and fought hard for what he believed in. He was unbelievably proud of his two boys and was so happy to be a part of his very special grandchildrens lives. He was more than a father, he was our best friend; the rock of our family. He would be there for you no matter what, day or night. He would always tell the grandkids, “Dont ask, you can have it.” Friends and family are welcome to gather for visitation from 4-8 PM on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. Cremation rites will be accorded following. A procession to Greenwood Cemetery for burial will begin at 10 AM on Wednesday, November 20 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family at Landmark Credit Union for an education fund set up for his grandchildren. Please join Freds family in sharing memories, photos, or video of his life through his tribute wall at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com.
