Fred Morris

Fred Red S. Morris, 73, of rural Danville died peacefully with family at his side early Wednesday morning, at home. Fred was born March 21, 1936 in Danville the son of the late Robert and Grace (Smith) Morris. He married Ellen Thoma on November 26, 1958. He will be sadly missed by family and friends including sons David (Dot) Morris, F. Kevin (Sally), Eric (Betsy), Daniel (Brenda); daughters Kelli and Jamie (Kent); 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; Steve Morris; friends Ken, Larry, and Don (the Cahill gang), Jay, Marianne, and Tiny. He was preceded in death by his childhood sweetheart and wife of 47 years, Ellen; brother, Tom (Margaret) Morris; son Michael; and grandson, Jeffrey. Fred was a 1953 graduate of Danville High School. He was a member of the Local IBEW #538 for 54 years and was also a Mason. Fred worked for the YWCA in Danville for greater than 10 years retiring 2 years ago. He enjoyed roller skating and street rods. Fred was an active member of the Catlin Church of Christ. He was also a member of the Romeo Club, Retired Men Eating Out A Celebration of Freds Life will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, July 6, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville, IL with Pastor Darren Johnson officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm Sunday evening at the funeral home. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Memorials may be made to the Provena Cancer Center or Catlin Church of Christ.
