Fred L. Hicks

Danville - Fred L. Hicks, 86, of Champaign, formerly of Danville, IL passed away at his home in Champaign on February 2, 2018 at 10: 25 AM. Fred was born on April 5, 1931 the son of Frank and Effie Hick in Collison, IL. He married Helen Fryman in 1982 and she preceded him in death. Survivors include his son; Tom (Debra) Hicks of Glen Carbon, IL, his daughter; Carolyn Hicks of Oakwood, IL, as well as two grandchildren; Jenna Hicks and Kyle Hicks. Fred is preceded in death by his parents, wife; Helen, two brothers, and one sister. Fred was a Machinist for Hurletron in Danville, IL. He was a master woodworker and enjoyed building clocks and other wood projects. He also enjoyed working with stained glass, fishing, collecting pocket knives, clocks and coins. A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, February 5, 2018 at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Rural Oakwood, IL with Patti Wise officiating.
