Fred Freeman

Fred H. Freeman, 80, of Cayuga, Indiana passed away unexpectedly on Saturday September 7, 2024, at 5:56 pm at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana.

Fred was born March 29, 1944, to Dwayne and Aellena (Day) Freeman in Grange Corner, Indiana. Fred served two years in the United States Army, where he learned several trades, one being a barber. He then started working at Tee Pak in Danville, Illinois when he returned. He retired from there in 2006 after 39.5 years.

On May 8, 1966, he married the love of his life Janet Loveall, and together they spent 58 amazing years. Janet survives also surviving are their children; Chuck Freeman, Debbie (Chuck) Wernigk of Oakwood, IL, Kathy (Robert) Orvis of Tangier, IN, and Bryan (Mikella) Freeman of Bloomingdale, IN, eleven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren, a brother Jess (Jeanie) Freeman of Gatesville, TX, and a sister Grace (Harold) Dickerson of Ozark, AR.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Phillip and James, two sisters, Nellena See, and Marjorie Bonderider, and a great grandson, Jenson Wernigk.

Fred loved being outdoors, mowing, playing cards and dancing. But most of all he loved spending time with his family and his beautiful wife.

Per Fred’s wishes cremation rights will be recorded by Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center DeVerter Chapel. A visitation for Fred will be held at the funeral home on Thursday September 12, 2024, 11-12:30 est, with a service at 12:30. Pastor Kurt Smith will officiate.
