Fred Allen Halls, 63, of Tilton passed away on August 10, 2007 at Carle Foundation Hospital. Fred was born December 12, 1943 in Danville son of George W. and Bertha Mae (Thomas) Halls. He married Doris Rehborg in Danville on May 8, 1984. She survives. Survivors include son George L. (Erin) Halls of Bismarck and their children Kelly, Dalton, Emily, Becca, & Payton. Daughter Simone Buffy Halls (Mike) of Danville and her child Noelle. Brother George E. (Sharyan) Halls Sr. of Tilton and their children Dawn (Mike) Hall, George E. (Kim) Halls Jr. & George William Billy (Jessica) Halls. Five great nephews: Tony, Ryan, Shane, Seth, & Adion. He was preceded in death by his parents. Fred was a 62 graduate of Danville High School and had worked for Hyster as a welder until realizing his calling as an entertainer. He was best known as the leader & bass player for his group Freddy and the Freeloaders. He had a long & colorful career, touring the U.S. & Canada for 30 years until retiring in 1992. After retirement he played with Johnny King, Cheap & Easy, and many other local bands. He was a passed member of AMBUCS, Tilton Lions Club, and Moose Lodge #1001. He was currently a member at Central Christian Church in Danville and an active member on the board at David S. Palmer Civic Center. Fred enjoyed NASCAR, the Cubs, fishing, but most of all his dogs Aussie & Scooby and his bird JoJo. Fred organized many benefits for the fight against cancer and was awarded October 21, 2006 as Fred Halls Day in Danville by the Mayor. A Celebration of Freds Life will be held at 5:30 pm, Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at Sunsets Community & Life Tribute Center 3550 N. Vermilion St. Danville, IL (formerly Lakeside-Barrick Funeral Chapel) with Pastor Deborah Owen officiating. Visitation will be held from 1-8 pm Tuesday afternoon and evening at the funeral home. The family will not be present at visitation from 3-4 pm on Tuesday. Per his and his family wishes he will be cremated after the services on Wednesday.
