Franklin Hamblin

Franklin Delano Hamblin left us peacefully on January 2, 2022, at his home in Westville, IL. Franklin was born in Foosland, IL. on September 13, 1936, to Carl and Sadie Hamblin, who preceded him in death. Franklin had 5 siblings, Jean Patterson of Oneida, TN., Virginia Mickle (deceased), Elmer Hamblin of Danville, IL., Larry Hamblin (deceased) and Darlene Hamblin of Mellott, IN. He leaves behind 8 living children, Chris Hamblin of Hoopeston, IL., Wayne Hamblin, James See (Ellen) of Perrysville, IN., Lannette Hamblin of St. Augustine, FL., Scott See (deceased), Tom Hamblin (Gwen) of Westville, IL., Robert See of Tilton, IL., Korina Evans (John) of Black Hawk, SD. and Frank Hamblin (Sabrina) of Lafayette, IN. Franklin had 17 grandchildren, Jessica Inman, Josh Inman, Robbie Irvin, Jasmine Jones, Jacob See, Noah See, Ava See, Penny Wilson, Mindy Miethe, Jessie Landers, Christopher Cook, Liana Ford, Victoria See (deceased), Robert See, Kasey Kaseman, Kala Kaseman, Kaitlyn Kaseman (deceased), 35 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Franklin attended Bismarck High School. He retired from the VA Hospital in 1994 where he worked for 33 years. Franklin also worked part time for 20-plus years at E.R. Bean Co. He was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church. Franklin enjoyed gardening and watching westerns. Frank loved watching sports, Illini basketball and football, Chicago Bears and his beloved Chicago Cubs. A celebration of Franklins life will be held at 1:00pm, Thursday, January 6, 2021, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Westville, Illinois 414 S State St. Westville, Illinois 61883 with David Harmless of Edgewood Baptist Church officiating. Visitation will be held 11:00am to 1:00pm on Thursday prior to his service at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Park, Danville.
