Frank T. Veach, Jr, 86, of Danville passed away at 7:03 a.m. on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at Presence USMC in Danville. Frank was born at home on February 18, 1930, to Frank T. and Ina H. (Keister) Veach, Sr. in Danville. He is survived by: a stepson, John (Millie) Bowen of Mooresville, IN; one sister Alice Bissell of Marion, IN; cousins, Betty Bennett and Shirley Borst, both of Williamsport IN; nieces and nephews, Timothy S. Bissell of Marion, IN, Kelly W. Bissell of Marion, IN, and, Stephen A. (Debbie Powers) Bissell and their family in Worcester, MA. Steven D. Bissell, John H. Bissell both from Charleston, MA. George S. Bissell from Worcester, MA. Tami (David) Holzhauser of Des Moines, IA, Susan (Jim) Tamomas from Vancouver, WA, Michael (Belle) Veach Beaverton, OR, Rhonda (David) Damerau from Littleton, CO, Melissa Elleson from Portland, OR, Gregory Veach from Hilsboro, OR and Linda Ordway of Portland, OR. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Marcille Veach, an infant brother, and a brother, William Harold Veach. Frank, when he was 10 Months old, his mother reported to the Danville Commercial News, would whistle in response when he heard a street car passing by. This was published in the newspaper as a local point of interest. At a young age, Frank attended First Presbyterian Church in Danville, where he was active in Sunday school and Junior choir. He attended Washington Grade School and after graduation, got his first job working at Gulick Drugstore. He also worked at several places in town at Dixie #2 Restaurant and Butler Florist for 40 years. During that time making flower arrangements for funerals and weddings, also delivering arrangements. Then later he worked at the YMCA as a maintenance man for 9 years until his health failed. He also volunteered his time as a driver for Meals on Wheels and enjoyed talking with those who participated in the program. Frank enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He also liked visiting places of historical interest. Frank was an avid writer, writing poems about things that occurred during his life. While visiting his sister, Alice Bissell in Marion, IN. he met the love of his life, Marcille Bowen. They were Later married on December 7, 1983 in Lebanon, IN. Marcille preceded Frank in death on September 5, 1999, after 21 years of marriage. The last 5 years Marcille was in a nursing home, Frank never missed a day visiting with her and he would spend long hours visiting her. They were truly in love and devoted to each other. A celebration of Frank's life will be held at 11:00am, Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Danville. Visitation will be from 9 am to 11am at the funeral home prior to his service. He will be laid to rest in Spring Hill Cemetery, Danville.
