Frank J. Miskus

WESTVILLE- Frank J. Miskus, 81, of Westville passed away at 2:15am on Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at the Danville VA Illiana Health Care Systems. Mr. Miskus was born in Westville on August 23, 1924, the son of Frank and Agnes (Sudeikas) Miskus. Both his parents precede him in death. On September 13, 1946, Frank married Louise Stefaniak in Westville. She preceded him in death in 1993. He later married Beverly Houston on August 13, 1994 in Westville. She survives and resides in Westville. Surviving family members include Franks wife Beverly; his son; Frank Miskus of California, his two daughters; Katherine (Gene) Henderson of Effingham, Il, and Patricia (George) Schabowski of Westville. Also surviving are his three step-sons; Lance (Denise) Vascura of Westville; Donald Vascura, also of Westville, Bobby (Michelle) Vascura of Danville, and his step-daughter; Chris Sissy Long of Danville. Franks seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, eleven step-grandchildren, two step-great grandchildren, one niece and two nephews will all dearly miss him. His two sisters, his brother, and a great grandson precede Frank in death. Frank was a United States Navy Veteran serving as a Radioman during WWII. After the service, Frank was employed at Allied Chemicals in Danville and was a supervisor, retiring after 30 years of service. Frank held numerous executive board positions and was past Commander of the Westville American Legion Post #51, as well as maintaining his lifetime membership. He enjoyed fishing, polka dancing, and spending time with his family and friends. A celebration of Franks life has been scheduled for 1:00pm on Friday, April 21, 2006 at Sunset Souths Westville Chapel located at 414 S. States St. in Westville. Father David Erickson will officiate the service. Finale resting place has been chosen at Sts. Peter&Paul Cemetery in Westville with military rites being conducted by the Westville American Legion Post#51. Visitation will be held between 4-8pm on Thursday, April 20, 2006 at the funeral home. Memorial condolences may be given in Franks name to the Danville VA Illiana Health Care Systems.
