Frank Engel

Frank M. Engel, 89, of Danville, died at 8:15 pm on Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. He was born August 12, 1917 in Danville the son of Frank C. and Martha (Siewert) Engel. He married Lucile Kirkpatrick in Danville. She survives. Frank is also survived by one daughter: Eva Landers of Danville; one brother: Martin C. (Betty) Engel of Danville; two grandchildren: Tim (Chris) Landers of Danville, Connie (Troy) Pearson of Danville; four great grandchildren: T.J. Pearson of Gulfport, Mississippi USN, Ryan Pearson of Danville, Tyson Pearson serving in Iraq USMC and Morgan Landers of Danville; and by a nephew and two nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother: Raymond Engel and one grandson: Kim Landers. Frank worked as a farmer until he became a drill press operator at Allith Prouty. He retired from there in 1979. He then worked for Leatherneck Hardware Inc. for 23 years until retiring at age 85. He enjoyed gardening, talking about horses and reminiscing with his family. He was a member of the Bowman Avenue United Methodist Church.
