Frank Cornwell, 76, of Georgetown, passed away at 2:32am, Friday, August 12, 2011, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. He was born on May 3, 1935, in Georgetown, IL, the son of Fred and Cora {Allen} Cornwell, both deceased. He was married to Carolyn Beasley on September 3, 1960, in Danville, IL. She will miss him dearly. Others who will miss him include: his sons, Bradley F. (Monica) Cornwell of W. Lebanon, IN, Steven A. (Cindy) Cornwell of Bettendorf, IA, & Brian K. Cornwell of Davenport, IA; his grandchildren, Broc K. Cornwell, Brianna Cornwell, Parker D. Cornwell, & Kaylee Cornwell; his brother, Delbert (Marie) Cornwell of Westville; and his sisters, Betty Bonebrake & Edna Stal, both of Georgetown. He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. Frank was proud veteran of the US army and had worked for the First National Bank of Georgetown for 25 years where he had served as Vice President and then as President. He was appointed to the Illinois Board of Banks & Trust Companies by Gov. Dan Walker. He also coached youth football and baseball teams for several years in Georgetown. Frank enjoyed hunting and golfing, but fishing was his favorite pastime. He was an avid fan of the Illini, Cubs, and Bears. He was a member of the American Legion Dornblaser Post #203. A Memorial Service will be held 6:00pm, Monday, August 15, 2011, at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, with Phil Miller officiating. Visitation will be 4pm-6pm Monday prior to the service. Memorial donations may be given in his name to American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society. He will be laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery.
