Francisco 'Pancho' Hutchins

Urbana- After battling cancer for two months, Francisco “Pancho” Xavier Hutchins, age 57, of Urbana, won by passing peacefully into eternal life to be with his Lord and Savior on the morning of April 8, 2014. He was at Carle Foundation Hospital being visited and comforted by family and loved ones at the time of his passing. “Pancho” was born in Danville, Illinois on July 14, 1956. He was the ninth child, and fifth son, of Maria Perez- Hutchins and Richard Hutchins Sr. Many remember Pancho as a cute curly headed little boy running about, full of energy and boyish but innocent mischief. Attached to his side was his little sister, “Maugie” and their dog, Jet. Other times you would find him tagging along his older brothers, Sal, Toby or Fernando, making go-carts or rebuilding bicycles. Lincoln Park was a favorite place to go with his siblings or his childhood friend, Parker. Pancho was a very happy person who loved life. He began to be known as saying, “Ive lived a good, long life in my 57 years and had fun doing it”. Pancho loved the Blues, Jazz, and Rock and Roll. He attended many festivals with brother, Sal. Once, when attending a “Black Oak Arkansas” concert, he was playing his harmonica in the front row. Before he knew it, a group of people had thrown him up on the stage and the band allowed him stay and play along with them. He was a successful carpenter for over thirty years. His clients grew to rely upon him because he was “honest, reliable and gave them the best of his abilities when working on a job”. Extremely talented in many areas, Pancho was a natural musician, artist, gardener, and painter to name a few. He graduated from Lakeland College with a degree in Heating and Air Conditioning. He continued his studies taking other college courses in computer science, painting, welding and music. Pancho was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Luis, of Mexico. Pancho is survived by his son, Joseph Xavier Hutchins of Danville; long time girlfriend, Darla Faul; eight siblings, Maria “Soc” Hillard (Roger), Fernando “Chico” Hutchins (Sharon) of Covington , IN, Alma Gibson (Mike) of Lafayette, IN, Patricia “Teach” Enos (Steve) of Danville, Tobias (Toby) Hutchins of Clinton, IN, Miriam “Mer” Boothe (Philip), Salvador “Sal” Hutchins of Danville and Maria “Maugie” Danner (Fred) of Homer.
