Francisco Torrefranca "Frank" Aparece peacefully joined the father in heaven on June 03, 2015 in his home in Danville, IL at the age of 91 years. Born in Inabanga, Bohol, Philippines on March 9, 1924, he was the son of Sofia Torrefranca and Damiano Bautista Aparece. He completed a Masters Degree in Education from The University of San Carlos in Cebu City, Philippines, in addition to his degree in Bachelors of Science in Education and Commerce. Frank had a strong work ethic and worked in various careers. He was in the Philippine Constabulary (PC) and has worked as an Elementary school teacher before working with the Commission on Audit (COA) as an auditor for the Philippine government, until his retirement in 1990. He was a living example of success through hard work. Frank, also known as "Papa", "Tio Isko" or "Lolo Isko", enjoyed playing tennis, travelling, and watching the news. He remained a very active member in the community way beyond his retirement years. He was a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus and proudly held the titles of Grand Knight and Faithful Navigator in Cebu City, Philippines. He helped in establishing various chapters of the organization. Frank never missed the opportunity to share what he has been given and was very active in community projects for the needy. He had helped in organizing the Justice Arellano Assembly Charitable Organization to help finance civic and patriotic projects in the Philippines. He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in his retirement here in the USA. Frank is lovingly survived by his wife, Susan Barcenilla; children, Sim (Boy) Aparece, Mary Grace (Mayette) Clawson, Ace Aparece, Agnes Aparece; children-in-laws Annie Cortes and Adam Clawson; grandchildren, Anthony Andrew Aprece, Francis Therese Aparece, Shienna Aparece, Xander Scott Clawson, and Kyler Grant Clawson; as well as his sisters, Gudelia Lofranco, Severina Lofranco, Sister Rosalia (Augustinian Recollects), and brother, Matildo Aparece, and a big family of nieces and nephews in the Philippines and USA. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Faustino, Lucas, Gregorio, Eutiquio, and sisters Maura, Felomina, Geleceria, and Floriana. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Carle Home Health and Hospice, who helped care for Frank at home, and to Father Greg Nelson and St. Paul Catholic's Church for continued spiritual support up to his last day. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, IL will open from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Sunday, June 7, 2015 for visitation with rosary service at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 8, 2015 at 1:00 PM at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Danville with Fr. Greg Nelson officiating. Entombment will take place at Sunset Memorial Park. Memorials can be made to the Danville Knights of Columbus.
