Tangier, Ind. -- Francis Lamb, 79, of Tangier, passed away at 2:56 a.m. EDT Saturday, September 19, 2009 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born September 27, 1929 in Williamsport, Indiana, the son of the late Jesse and Vera Hutts Lamb. He married Kathryn L. Pickett on August 10, 1949 in Cayuga, Indiana. She preceded him in death on February 10, 2004. Survivors include one daughter, Erin(Tony)Engel of Linden, Indiana; three sons, David(Linda)Lamb of Rockville, Indiana; Jon(Lou Ann)Lamb of Marshall, Indiana and Greg(Merry)Lamb of Tangier, Indiana; ten grandchildren; two step grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Carrie Mae Craft of Danville, Illinois and Marvis Loveall of Tangier, Indiana; one brother, Lonnie Lamb of Kingman, Indiana. He was preceded in death by two sons, Steven and Jay Lamb; one great granddaughter; two sisters and four brothers. Francis retired in 1984 from General Motors in Tilton, Illinois. He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, reading his bible and dining out with close family. Graveside service and burial: 10 a.m. EDT Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at Mount Hope Cemetery in Covington, Indiana; Officiating: Pastor Carl Huxford. There will be no visitation. DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana in charge of arrangements.
